Dear 1-S parents,
Hello!
Covid restrictions and Government protocol have changed the way we will conduct school from May 10-20, 2021.
https://mrssteinborn1s.weebly.com/
Teachers have been tasked with providing a combined total of 10 hours of activities for numeracy and literacy (Math and Language Arts) each week. On this website you will see my basic lessons explained, as well as other ideas for extensions. I will be providing lessons using familiar structures and activities that we have done at school. I will also be supplying you with new words for the weekly LA lessons. Some examples of what the desired activity might look like will be provided, which I hope will help with understanding the activities assigned and clarify my expectations! In addition, on May 10th, I will also be sending a packet of learning supports (accessed through my classroom window).
I ask that each day you take pictures of their completed work and submit it through the Class Dojo app, so I am able to provide timely feedback for their assignments in order to help support you and your child’s at-home learning experience. Just a friendly reminder that students are encouraged to work as independently as possible after you have given the activity's instructions. However, if your child is struggling please adapt the lesson to fit your circumstance, so they can have success!
My office hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you need to contact me outside of these hours, please allow me until the next school day to respond.
I think it is important for the children to see me (and their favorite puppets) as we find our way through this digital week, so I will also be hosting two “Zoom” meetings on:
Tuesday, May 11 @ 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, May 13 @ 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, May 18 @ 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, May 20 @ 10:30 a.m.
Look for a link for the online meetings, sent through Class Dojo. During this Zoom time, I will have an activity for your child to engage in, with myself and their classmates. You can download the “Zoom” app on your phone/tablet or home computer or access it through your web browser.
If needed, I will also be available at the school for individual help. Please contact me through Class Dojo if you would like to schedule one of the available learning blocks. Thank you so much in advance for your patience and flexibility through all of the unexpected changes that may occur! Your child's learning is my top priority and as a team we will work together to navigate this week. If you have any questions or concerns about the activities provided, please reach out on Class Dojo, call the school @ 403.223.2988 or email me at [email protected].
